Ronald J. Pawley has been involved in the management of hazardous materials emergencies requiring knowledge, skills, continuing education and networking to protect the health, safety and security of our working environment and community. Delivering high level, top quality results is of paramount importance and must be utilized with absolute perfection.Mr. Pawley developed his chemical firefighting experience for over three decades โ with supervisory, operational and policy-making insight within the Eastman Kodak Park Fire Department (KPFD).
He became a chief officer, incident commander, and hazmat professional in one of the largest chemical firefighting organizations worldwide during his tenure at Eastman Kodak Company.
His duties included supervising protective venues in both fire protection and fire prevention at KPFD. Ronald J. Pawley became accustomed to high priority projects, program responsibility and accountability under pressure. Special emphasis programs in the management of chemicals is an integral part of effective emergency control.
Extensively trained in the practice of industrial firefighting, Ronald J. Pawley served as Executive Deputy Fire Chief for the Kodak Park Fire Department. Ronald J. Pawley joined Eastman Kodak Company in June 1953. By 1978, upper management in the fire department urged Ronald J. Pawley to pursue an array of educational and professional training opportunities. In 1978, he attended numerous training seminars regarding the handling of hazardous materials and transportation emergencies through the National Fire Protection Association. He subsequently achieved a diploma from the Rochester Institute of Technology through the College of Continuing Education in the Department of Management. In 1982, he gained extensive experience with flammable liquid incidents at a national fire foam school at College Station, Texas. Ronald J. Pawley also attended the New York State Department of Health Emergency Medical Services Program and a number of educational seminars at the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs. Achieving the position of Executive Deputy Fire Chief in 1983, Ronald J. Pawley maintained diverse responsibilities in the large fire department at Kodak. Highly active in motivating and developing personnel in the department, he notably helped to create an employee participation program. His active service frequently entailed acting as Incident Commander during emergency response incidents. Ronald J. Pawley retired from his career in chemical firefighting in June 1986.
